How many customers a hair salon loses by not answering the phone

If you run a salon, you know it: the phone rings exactly when your hands are full of colour. You can't pick up, and the caller often doesn't try again: they call the next salon on their list.

Do the maths with your own numbers

For a week, note the calls you couldn't take. Suppose, as an example, there are 10 and half were to book. If your average ticket is €25, that's €125 a week going to someone else: around €500 a month.

And that's before counting customers who would have come back every month. A loyal customer is worth far more than their first visit.

Why voicemail doesn't fix it

Hardly anyone leaves a message. Those who do wait for you to call back, which often comes too late: they've already booked elsewhere.

What you can do

Forward the calls you can't take to an AI receptionist. It answers straight away, gives prices and opening hours, and books directly into your calendar. You keep working and see what happened on your phone.

The same goes for WhatsApp and Instagram: many customers prefer to write. Reply in minutes instead of hours and they book with you.
